The NSW RFS recently worked with the ABC’s Catalyst program to produce a simulated catastrophic fire danger day.
A family of four were put through the realistic fire scenario to see how they respond. Another family went through a simulated flood disaster. We could learn a lot from how these families react and the actions they take - and the ones they don't - during these scenarios.
The program explores how the brain reacts during an emergency, when pushed through extreme circumstances.

As community educators, what do you think we should be doing differently?
